Faded Love

To begin to play “double notes,” play on both the A and the D strings when this melody line is being played on either the A or D string. Play on the A and E strings when the melody moves to the E string.
To play this song in the Key of G use the exact same fingering but start the song on the open G string instead of the open D string. To play it in the key of A, start the song on the open A string. A popular “oldtime” way of playing this tune is to play the only the “verse” but alternate between the Keys of D and A. The chorus in A is left out because most oldtime fiddlers only know how to play in first position as opposed to moving up the fingerboard for higher notes. It works. Also, it's the way Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings did it as a duet.
